Kevin--I can’t thank you enough for this poem. I struggle with anticipatory grief --two parents in their last years--Dad 91 and Mom 89. A dog who is aging and my ex who has in final stages of dementia at age 60, who I think about every day.

This poem soothed my soul today. Thank you. XO

Animals. So beautiful and deep. Teddy has forgiven you; your love and served as his foundation.. You need to forgive yourself completely. Animals know that we humans are damaged and flawed; our temporary self-destructions never break that bond.

Love that photo of you hiking up your jeans, hand in leash - we are fully ourselves in every manifestation with animals. They’re all guide dogs and the greatest teachers
