I am so dizzy following your itinerary but I know that you will have the best time wherever you are- because that is WHO you are- and I may need Casa 309 when I get back to Porto in September because I still haven't found an abode! Love your writing and love you
I think you would like staying in the garden apartment ... ceiling a bit low but it is really cool and you have outside space and you own kitchen. But the place seems constantly booked so book it now. Hell, you might want to stay here a few months even.
I have only been to Porto twice ….and when I say ‘been to Porto’ I mean only in transit to Madeira….I have always wanted to return and really see it….your piece is very good indeed and has renewed my interest in taking a little leap into the next new adventure….’why wait?’
You are living a BIG life in the best sense ….sometimes, it’s so easy to slip into a ‘small’ one ….
Thank you Robert …and all good wishes for the next step….
Loved to know that you’ve enjoyed Porto so much. And that room is the coolest. As I’ve told you, early 90’s, at the Ministry of Economy, I had the luck of working at one of these Daciano da Costa desks and chairs. Perfect design and ergonomic chair.
Have a nice stay in Tanger! We are thinking going to Morocco coast in September.
Looking forward to seeing you again in Lisbon.
P.S. Unfortunately, you’ll miss the great popular Porto holiday (in honor of Saint John), on 24th June. Many genuine and lively parties on Porto streets.
Lovely essay. Safe onward voyage. I do love how Portugal remains stubbornly (or rather effortlessly) Portuguese despite mass tourism.

I long to visit Porto because of this letter.
Yes, Crisco in the crust!
